Philip and Sarah married at their home on a perfect autumn day in Mercer, Maine. Under trees of gold, they said their vows together. Guests sat on natural log benches and shook milkweed releasing fluffy white seeds as the couple exited. It was the most natural, simple and yet absolutely breathtaking fall event. With just 60 or so guests, this wedding was warm and wonderful. I laughed throughout the day with this couple, their guests and their families. The whole experience was truly a delight for me. It was a perfect end to a perfect 2009 wedding season.
Phil and Sarah, I know we will be Maine friends for a lifetime! I wish you luck, love and laughter! You are amazing together and it was an honor to work with you on your wedding. Here’s a few highlight images as a sneak peak. Love these! Enjoy!
The day was calm and fun. Here’s Sarah in the morning looking lovely. Sarah was actually a wee bit sick on her day, but you couldn’t tell. My brides often work so hard in preparation the week of their wedding, it wears them down! That said, all that work— totally paid off!
Sarah wore a bracelet honoring her mother, Lorie (pictured on bracelet below), who passed away of breast cancer in 2003. Many wonderful family members surrounded Sarah on her day, but it is just not natural (or right) to see a bride without a mom. In honor of Lorie, Blush Imagery has donated $100 to Maine’s own Pink Initiative as a small gift for Sarah and Philip.
Back to our fabulous day… Signs led guests down a wooded path to a natural amphitheater for the ceremony.
This is just a quick shot I made of the trees as Sarah and her dad walked down the isle. Kind of fun. (Yes,of course I have straight forward images of them coming in as well… but this is blog-neato. It is my photography” kickin’ it old school” … kind of grainy, kind of arty.)
