The Langham Hotel: Boston, MA wedding Katie and Michael 08.15.09

2-08Katie and Michael were married at Tufts University Chapel in Massachusetts just outside of Boston. It was a beautiful Mass performed by Pops— a cherished family priest and friend to the couple. It was a hot day to say the least, but spirits were high and the families were relaxed and at ease.

This couple was pretty awesome! Michael just finished his Ph.D. in chemical engineering. Katie is in public health. Both seemed confident but quiet at the start of their day—but never judge a book by its cover.

Katie and Michael’s warm laughs during the ceremony set the tone for the rest of the event— winning all of our hearts. Their silly requests during portraits raised their cool-kid factor (private joke– old time photo THE best ever!), their surprise first dance at The Langham literally rocked our worlds and last but not least…. Michael’s Dean Martin-style-serenade to his new bride brought down the house! Signed, sealed, delivered— a fabulous wedding!

I was so inspired by Katie and Michael’s wonderful parents— particularly Katie and her father, Chris.  It was obvious that they have a very special father-daughter relationship. It reminded me of what I share with my dad and I couldn’t help but keep my camera pointed at them all day knowing there would be nice moments to catch.

Also of note, the couple reserved fabulous rooms for their day that lit my photography fire! The chapel was red and striking. The Langham Hotel is an amazing venue for cocktails, our reception and dancing. You can see some of those rooms below.

Enjoy the sneak peak! There are so many more great shots to see!

Michael and Katie, I had a blast throughout the day with you and your families! You guys are a class act with a lot of wonderful chemistry. And that will serve you well for a lifetime! My love to you both for a happy marriage!

Blush bride Maresa and pals on Aria!

Picture 1Maresa, a fun, fearless Blush brides in 2008 offered up one of her wedding pics to AriaBridesmaids.com — where she bought her maids’ light blue silk shantung dresses. And hey… Aria featured it on their website! Maresa’s is the very first pic there… top left… gals jumping. I rarely do this jumping shot anymore, but barefoot gals jumping on the beach… it’s just funtastic. Maresa and her girls were hysterical together that whole day! Seeing it again, brings back a good memory for me personally. Thanks Maresa for posting it for us! :)

Bar Harbor Club: Bar Harbor, Maine wedding Rachel and Jimmy 08.01.09

LL1-01

On the first really hot summer day of 2009, Rachel and Jimmy were married at the gorgeous Bar Harbor Club in Bar Harbor, Maine. It was an emotional ceremony and a foot-loose/fancy reception for a couple with a lot of love and charm.

Jimmy and Rachel have been together for over 7 years so their event was super elegant but super relaxed! A great day and wedding for both families. I  loved every moment of the day with this down-to-earth,  warm couple.

The best moment of their wedding- for me- was actually during Jimmy’s best man’s his speech. Jimmy is a professional NHL player… that is…. part of the Stanley Cup-winning Detroit Red Wings. Despite that great moment in Jimmy’s life, his best man rejoiced, “marrying Rachel was —by far — his greatest achievement.”

Well said! Rachel and Jimmy, what a great day! My love and luck to you for a happy, sweet life together!
