2009 prediction

Last year I heard Jason Mraz’s ‘I’m Yours’ more than a few times for the oh-so-important  first dance. I predict to hear this easy, breezy tune ‘Lucky‘ by Mr. Mraz with Ms. Colbie Caillet this coming 2009 season. The song was released awhile ago but is getting more air time now. I’m a cheese ball, so I adore it. And at about 3 minutes, it works well for a first dance. Great for a beach wedding. I remember back in the day… couples went with songs like Peter Gabriel’s ‘In Your Eyes’ forgetting that the track is an agonizing 8 minute long unless you fade it out early. That’s a long time to dance in the spotlight!

On another cheesetastic note, there’s gossip of a Bush wedding in Kennebunkport, Maine this summer. If you care, you can read more here.

Have an easy, breezy day!

Tax Day April 15

Just a reminder, tax day is tomorrow. We put our taxes to bed awhile back. Special thanks to Dave, my always fun, fearless accountant at Dave Thomas & Associates located in the Time and Temperature Building in downtown Portland, Maine. He’s great and we always get refund. Thanks Dave!

For my couples, I wish I could tell you that your wedding services are deductible … but to my knowledge—not so much. (Maybe you could inc. your union?)

You can of course write-off our commercial/corporate photography services. It is considered an advertising expense for a business. More on this topic soon. Wink.

Happy Tax Day! Beth :)

Maine Women Wedding Photographers

I went to a great Maine Women’s Wedding Photographers luncheon yesterday at the Eastland Park Hotel in downtown Portland. It was fabulous. I was able to meet some new friends and reconnect with some familiar faces/ gal pals. So good to see you all … before we head back into the wedding season for the year. Thanks to my friend Emilie of Emilie Inc. for running the show and for the nice presentation by Pixel Chicks on their digital imaging services— a good thing for the busy photographer.

It is a fun bunch of chicas! Lovely time for all! Beth :)

See the new blog header …. it’s up there

Thanks Arielle Walrath for the super cool new blog header … that’s the new picture/layout thingy above. You’re a super gal, designer and friend. We love all the fun stuff you create for us here at Blush Imagery. The new e-newsletter she made us is so pretty. It premieres next week! Beth :)
